SOGI 123 wouldn’t be possible without the generosity of our donors and funders. As a non-profit organization, individual donations are essential for ARC Foundation and the continued success of SOGI 123 to foster safer and more inclusive schools for students of all sexual orientations and gender identities.

Your donation will empower us to:

1. Accelerate Systemic Change: Your support enables us to connect and uplift educators, foster SOGI-inclusive education environments and champion policies that support 2SLGBTQ+ students. In turn, educators are better equipped to help all students thrive.
2. Deliver Resources: With your help, we can continue delivering essential tools and resources to educators and families, ensuring they have the knowledge and materials needed to create safer and more inclusive classrooms.
3. Provide Ongoing Support: Your contribution enables us to offer ongoing support to educators in implementing 2SLGBTQ+-inclusive practices and bring together regional SOGI Educator Networks, where educators learn from each other and lead change together.

WHY donate to ARC Foundation in support of SOGI 123?

2SLGBTQ+ students still disproportionately experience prejudice, discrimination and harassment:

1. 62% of 2SLGBTQ+ students still feel unsafe at school, compared to 11% of cisgender heterosexual students.
2. As many as 40% of youth experiencing homelessness identify as 2SLGBTQ+.
3. Transgender and non-binary youth are almost 2x more likely to experience cyberbullying than cisgender youth.

But there is hope:

1. SOGI-focused policy in schools acts as a protective factor for 2SLGBTQ students – they are more likely to be flourishing in their mental health and wellbeing, experience greater school attachment and educator support, and face less discrimination and harassment.
2. 2SLGBTQ+ students who have access to even ONE safe and accepting adult are 40% less likely to report a suicide attempt. This safe adult is often a teacher or school staff member.

Please note that SOGI 123 is a project of the registered charity, ARC Foundation. Established in 2007, ARC Foundation creates breakthrough collaboration models for reducing 2SLGBTQ+ discrimination in schools. All donations will go to ARC Foundation for direct allocation to SOGI 123, with tax receipts similarly issued by ARC.
